I am a Certified Journalism Educator — a nationally recognized credential from the Journalism Education Association. According to the JEA, this is a "formal, academic certification to help scholastic media teachers and advisers demonstrate professional excellence in the field."
I've also been involved with the Oregon Journalism Education Association, helping with registration and working as a contest judge for the Best of the West student media awards as well as on-site writing contests at Fall Media Day.
